In the 1970′s, Frederic Hoyle wrote a book entitled “Ice”, which proposed a possible mechanism for the triggering of ice ages. His work was years ahead of its time. This song was written when it became obvious that he was not far out. Possibly all a bit passé now, with global warming and all … however, chaos theory supports Hoyle’s work, and the possibility of another “cold spell” in the next 100 years is still on!

Soothfully a phenomenal prog rock album—an instant classic. What motivates me to say so, is the music’s incredible expressiveness & its wonderfully cinematic song structures. Jargon is a very good fit with this band. It is quite evident that the band’s current lineup have great chemistry together & that they share a common affinity to this vein of music. Ein so seltsames Album ist mir lange nicht mehr untergekommen. Der Track „Blood Of The Rose“ lässt den Hörer die Stirn in Falten ziehen. Eine zuckersüße, liebliche, kitschige Melodie dringt an das Ohr des Hörers. So säuselt der Song eine Weile vor sich hin, bis er plötzlich etwa bei Halbzeit (es handelt sich um einen 10minüter) komplett die Stimmung wechselt und plötzlich mit zupackender Gitarre und Sprech-Gesang in einen floydige Bluesrock-Hymne umschlägt... sehr kurios! To me, "Trip The Life Fantastic" was a must-buy on "Bandcamp Friday" this time. It's one of the few "Drifting Sun" albums not already found in my collection, and an essential one, because it marks the beginning of the prolific collaboration of composer/keyboardist Pat Sanders and lyricist/singer Peter Falconer, which was, in my opinion, the best creative pairing the band ever had.
